As many of you know, Rick left for the Congo last Thursday evening and so far everything is going well. After arriving safely on Friday he began training on Saturday and begins recording on Monday. He's working with a great team and sounds really encouraged. He's pretty sleepy though, he mentioned that there hasn't been much time to catch up on sleep! Pray for lots of energy.
I'm still in Austria house sitting for two different missionary families. They are both down in Croatia getting some R&R! Please pray for me as I keep myself busy with two little guys, four and eight. Also, I'm missing Rick terribly and can hardly wait until the fourth of October! As Jack Johnson says, "it's always better when we're together". =)
Well, please keep us in your prayers! And keep the comments and emails coming. It's so nice to get words from friends when you're on the road! It's like a little bit of home!
Warmly,
Danielle Carabin

Keeping busy!
Hello again!
Right now we're in Austria, about an hour outside Vienna and we'be been house-sitting for a missionary couple while they take some time off. We've been keeping our days busy spending time with Lisa, their 15 year old daughter, and doing other things like gardening, shingling, cutting down trees and stacking wood and of course painting. Danielle learned how to use a chainsaw today too! Fun times. =)
The conference ended up being a wonderful time for us both. We definitely love working with teens and really enjoy the camp environment. We're excited for new opportunites in the future that would involve that.
After our time here in Austria, it's off to the Congo. There will be two teams onsite for two languages. We're getting trained on updated equipment that will help to speed up the whole recording process. Mainly, it will alow us to do editing on the field rather than sending it back to Canada and then back to the country! We're excited about that. Please pray that we'd learn quickly!
We return to Canada on October the 3rd and we'll be busy moving into a new place. Our friends just bought a house and we decided to move into their old place. This will be a nice change for us!
After being home for a bit, plans are to head to Guatemala. Details are still being worked out but hopefully everything will come together smoothly!
Some of you have asked for ways that you could be praying for us more personally! One would be for wisdom regarding future plans. The conference really confirmed for the both of us that we would love to have more ministry training. We're not exactly sure what that would look like, but we're pretty open. We studied 2 Timothy with the teens and we were impacted with how much emphasis Paul placed on standing firm in the faith and being able to pass on the word soundly to others. This is just something that's been on our hearts!
Well, we will write again soon. Thanks again for the notes of encouragement! We feel so blessed!
In Christ,
Rick and Danielle
