Sunday in Turkey!

Hello again!

These past few days have been so good. We visited with our friend Tim and another guy named Nathan and just hung out in Istanbul for a day and had a blast. Thanks for your prayers too, we had a really encouraging time. We hope to meet up with Tim again this Wednesday.

After that we rented a car and made our way south. Our first stop was Ephesus! We are still amazed at how beautiful it was. We couldn't help but get out our Bible and read Paul's letter to the Ephesian church and pretend that we were part of it all. I guess that in a wonderful way we are!

Right now we're in a place called Antalya. A missionary family in Istanbul loaned us a tent and some sleeping bags so we've been camping out. Last night was the best, we found this little beach with great rock climbing and basically slept in a cave! It's been really refreshing after coming from the monastery and then busy Istanbul. We'll probably spend one more night here and start making our way back to Istanbul.

Thanks for all your prayers and comments! Even though it's so beautiful here, we're looking forward to coming home.

Love Rick and Danielle

p.s. Ben, are you kidding me? How in the world? Can't wait to get home! :)
Derek, the climbs were hard but the view was beautiful, we thought of the Salmon family lots! We get home June 2nd!

We're Done!

Wow, God is so good! We just finished the Suryoyo recording and it feels good to be packing up. The people here feel very blessed and excited to have the Jesus Film in their own language. It's so cool to be part of that. We have so many helpful resources in English- name it and we've got it. The Suryoyo's don't even have a readable Bible for the average person. This film is going to have a great impact. Thanks for being part of this too by all your support and prayers.

We'll arrive in Istanbul tomorrow and spend a few days there visiting with Danielle's friend from Bible school who is a local missionary now. Pray that we'll be able to encourage him and that our time together would be truly blessed.

Apart from that, we're both doing great and we're looking forward to seeing many of you when we get home!!!

Tons of love,

Rick and Danielle

p.s. We'll post some pics when we get to an internet cafe!

News from Turkey

Hello everyone! Sorry that we haven't been able to post lately. Internet is pretty scarce where we are. BUT we can't wait to show you pictures. For those of you who don't know we are staying at a monastery! Tyring hard to fit in with the monks and the nuns... you all need to promise not to laugh at Rick's bald spot when he comes home! :)

Recording is going well, praise God we'll be done in a couple more days. The people group that we're recording for don't even currently have a translation of the Bible that they can understand. It would be like trying to understand classical Greek. So, they'll have access to the Jesus film and a new Bible! So exciting!!! Please pray for the man who has arranged for us to come and who is translating the Bible as well.

We love you all and will write again soon!

p.s. Sorry that we don't have any pictures up of you yet Miles... promise to get them up as soon as we get home! "It's just the six o'clock news" :)

p.p.s Derek, we've been spending some spare time on some local boulders! The farmers think we're crazy.
